What assistant memory is genuinely good at

It is the right tool for how you like to work, and it costs you nothing to set up. ChatGPT keeps saved memories and can reference your past chats. Claude carries context between chats and keeps a separate memory for each project, with a summary you can read and edit. Claude Code reads the CLAUDE.md files you write and also keeps its own notes per repository. Preferences, house style, build commands, the shape of a codebase: this is exactly what that memory should hold, and Oomira does not try to replace it.

Where it stops being enough

Assistant memory records what it was told. It rarely records when the claim became true, and almost never records where the claim came from, because the source was you. So a number you mentioned during a seed round stays the number, an assistant cannot tell you what your own site says today, and when a fact changes the previous value is usually replaced rather than kept as history. For preferences that is fine. For a funding round, a title, a headcount, or a customer, it is the difference between a fact and a recollection.

It belongs to the assistant, not to you

Each memory lives where it was made. ChatGPT memory is in ChatGPT. Claude memory is in Claude, and split again per project. Claude Code auto memory is stored per repository on the machine you were working on. That is a reasonable privacy boundary and a real limit at the same time: a new assistant, a teammate, an investor, or the model that reads your site before a meeting all start from nothing, and you explain yourself again.

What Oomira does instead
